AOPYO Mentoring- Provides one-on-one and group mentoring for youth and young adults in correctional facilities and those who have been involved with the criminal justice system. Our Mentor program meets our participants where they are in life and provides a safe space with a mentor, who to has experienced similar life lessons. Our Mentors are motivated to serve others through personal stories and evidence-based curriculums to provide alternative opportunities for a different path in life. We incorporate our Enrichment programs which include The Apprentice of Peace program which focuses on destigmatizing mental health while positively developing youth and young adults by incorporating leadership, arts, wellness, and skilled trades. Tai Chi for peace program which includes increased coping skills, meditative physical activity, and movement-based therapy. The Career Pathways program aims to equip the youth and young adults with sufficient knowledge about themselves and career development opportunities. Through this program they will gain job-readiness skills and explore career opportunities, this will include activities like resume building, mock interviews, exposure to skilled trades a career and personality quiz, and much more.
