Human Services

Every county in Colorado has a Department of Human Services office. This is where you can apply for services and benefits such as Medicaid insurance, TANF food help, child care help, utility help, child support technicians, and more.

Some human service offices have behavioral health navigators who will help you find mental health services. Others may have community resource navigators. Always ask for help if you need it. Just be aware that not every county office is exactly alike, and they don’t all provide the exact same services.

Department of Human Services

Click on the website link for a list of every county's Department of Human Services (DHS) office. You can then click on the website for the county where you live. Hours, addresses, and additional information you need will be on the website. Sometimes it can be easier to apply in person for benefits, so you might want to call and ask for a screening interview appointment as well as the documents you need to bring to the interview. Not every DHS office throughout Colorado provides the same services.
