If you were born in Colorado, you or a relative can order a certified copy of your birth certificate through a Vital Records office. For details, click on the website below. If you need help ordering a birth certificate, some of the organizations in the Re-entry section may be able to help you. You can also call 211 and ask the operator if there are any organizations near you that help people apply for birth certificates.

If you were born in Colorado, you can order a certified copy of your birth certificate by phone, mail, or through a local Vital Records Office. You can get your birth certificate the same day if you go to a Vital Records Office. Phone and online orders take 3-5 days. Mail orders take 30 days. The main office is in Denver, but other offices are located throughout Colorado. Click on the website and scroll down to Other Locations Near You for a list of locations. If you need help getting your birth certificate, check in the Help Getting Your ID section and with Re-entry Help organizations listed on The cost for a certified copy is $20.
