The Educational Opportunity Center is in the Access Center at Colorado State University. The EOC helps people in Adams, Larimer and Weld counties prepare for any school, college, or university. The help is free. You can call the number below or email EducationalOpportunityCenter@colostate.edu for more info. The EOC is located in a house, and there is a small parking lot behind that you may use.

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is housed at and administered through Community College of Denver (CCD) on the Auraria Campus, but it's open to everyone in the six-county metro area. The folks at the EOC help people prepare for college in many ways, starting with career exploration, deciding upon a college, helping with the admissions paperwork, financial aid application, and scholarship info for low-income and first-generation students. The EOC is in the Cherry Creek building on the campus in suite 137.

Emily Griffith Technical College is one of three technical public colleges in Colorado. It is located in Denver and offers hands-on training certificates. There is no fee to apply but there is a tuition cost. They do have scholarships available, with new courses starting every month. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an online application that determines if you are eligible for a Pell grant as well as other grants and loans to help you pay for college. Use the website link to submit the application online or call the main line to ask for a paper copy. To learn more, it’s best to make an appointment with the financial aid office at the school you want to attend. They will provide support for the FAFSA application and provide education on other financial aid options. The Colorado Department of Higher Education is posting videos to dispel myths about the FAFSA. We link to the one about myths, but there are several others on their YouTube channel.

For example, you can get free career preparation, free high school equivalency test preparation, free college admission test preparation, and much more. All it requires is a library card, which you can get through any public library in Colorado. Type "Tutorial Video" into the search bar to set up your free account and to learn more about their opportunities. When you're registering for an account, be sure to use your library card number as a user name. If you don't have a library card, ask library staff to help you.
