The Good Neighbor Garage in Denver is a nonprofit organization that helps people who need a car for work. Once you qualify for the program, you’ll be placed on a waiting list until a car becomes available. Their goal is to help you get into a solid used car at an inexpensive cost. In order to be eligible, you need a valid Colorado driver’s license and a current Motor Vehicle Record. (You’ll have to go to a Department of Motor Vehicles office to get a copy of your current record.) You also have to provide two months proof of income, be able to pay $1400 to $3000 for the placement fee, have the ability to be insured, and have a letter of referral from a case worker or referral agency. This letter can come from a probation or parole officer, homeless shelter case manager, etc. Call 720-941-5897 to set up an appointment for an interview or click the button below to learn more.
