Re-entry Help

Re-entry organizations, community agencies, and faith-based organizations offer help, but it varies by agency. Take time to look at websites and make a few calls to narrow down where you want to go. Sometimes agencies don’t take walk-ins. Be sure you call first.

You may need to be persistent and make several calls and visit several places before you find the right place for you. It's important to find a place where you feel comfortable and want to go for help. The right place can make a huge difference. Be sure to start with re-entry organizations.

Organizations of Interest lists groups that pertain to criminal justice. Some are support groups, some have an advocacy focus, and some do both.

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out.
The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture
