Many people find housing through word-of-mouth. Ask around. Look on Craigslist. If you don't know how to do a Craigslist search, watch our video here. Try working with a community or re-entry organization. They often have contacts with landlords, but you need to work through them. See our list here. You can also call Colorado Housing Connects operators at 844-926-6632. They can help you search for housing. Calls are answered Monday – Friday, 8am -4:30 pm.
If you’re on parole, be sure to check with your community re-entry specialist at the parole office.
The Community Resources program in Denver at 2100 Broadway helps homeless people find resources and get help finding housing. They also help with referrals to other agencies and treatment programs, applying for benefits, and replacing a permanent resident card. You must sign up for an appointment on Monday or Wednesday between 7:30-8:30 am and 12:30-1pm. You may receive an appointment for later that day, but you may need to go more than one time to get an appointment. The Community Resources help line is 303-312-9679.
